Good reference. One thing I'd take issue with is that the authors recommend changing the subject line as the thread evolves. This is great for threaded newsreaders, but it makes it hard to follow archived posts since Google threads by the subject line - i.e. postings with a new subject line are treated as a new thread.

Yes, this is more of a problem with Google than anything else, but since they're the 400 pound gorilla of usenet archives, it makes sense to adapt to their way of doing things.
