One of my home W98 systems has printing and shutdown problems because the updates from Redmond show a definite lack of QC. No one yet has been able to figure it out (and some very capable people have tried). The manufacturer was Packard Bell, so I seem to be TSOL. The three laws of windowsthermodynamics seem to be: Can't fix, can't restore, can't upgrade. But at least I save money from my 7-year-old not burning through print cartridges.
