Before making snide remarks about other folk's answers, be sure yours is right:
A synonym is NOT a copy of the data , it is just an entry in the dictionary that references the actual table and allows access without using the fully-qualified table name.. Do you really think that if I have 200 tables and create a synonym for each of them, I now have twice as much data stored?????( could really use up disk space in a hurry...)
Views are not even remotely like a clustered index., if like anything they are like sub queries that are pre-written.
