You are focusing on the wedding ceremony and you haven't even become engaged.

Before you spend two minutes worrying about syntactic differences, and they are many and large, you need to become familiar with the huge differences in architecture, concepts, transaction models, and locking. Unless you fully understand and appreciate multi-version concurrency ... you are just wasting your time on even thinking about the languages.
