One final suggesiton - http://education.oracle.com >> Online Library has a
number of  online 'courses' some of which are free of charge.  You might want to
look at them.

Some of the free courses are pretty fluffy, but some do help a newbie.  Behind
the 'paid courses' wall in the Online Library are a number of decent
skill-builder courses.  (I've signed up for a year's subscription -  the price
is reasonable, the content is decent, and it's easy way to get caught up on the
latest updates).
