Thanks for the feedback guys..

I am aware of the danger of concentrating on hit ratios and PIOs.  I
just needed confirmation about how a statement managed to hit the
buffer cache so many times without ageing blocks out and re-reading
them in.

From what you are saying, the statement is in a tight loop,
continually re-reading the same blocks.
