I heard a rumour once that if you started up a DB2 database, and it had tables whose names started with the letter Q, and it was a Thursday, the startup disk would rotate faster and faster until it eventually cut its way through the casing, after which, on attaining quarter light speed, it would eventually disappear into outer space, never to return.

I was somewhat sceptical of this, so I asked what evidence they had, or what error message they were getting.
