Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> VNI-4048 with OMS job on Windows 2000 - Oracle DB on Linux
Hello, all. I am having a problem setting up the Oracle Intelligent
Agent on a Box running Linux RedHat 2.1 ES (DB version 9.2.0.1.0). My
OMS is on Windows 2000 Professional, Oracle version 9.2.0.1.0. I had
no problem with the installation of the database on the Linux box, I
can discover the node, ping the agent, and contact the database from
the OMS machine. The problem is: when I submit a job, I get a
VNI-4048 "Agent internal error (e.g, Out of memory, Operating system
error)" error. The OMS has two ethernet cards: one connecting to the
"outside world", and one which connects to the local network of about
five machines. The Linux box with the database and Intelligent Agent
is on the local network.
I can ping and tnsping from both the OMS to the agent machine, and from the agent machine to the OMS machine. I can telnet from the OMS machine to the Linux box on ports 1748, 1754, 1808, 1809 - all of which Oracle says have to be open. I can telnet from the Linux machine to the OMS machine on ports 7771 and 7773, but get a connection refused on port 7772. Fport/netstat reveal that this port is being using by the OMS (as expected). It is not blocked as far as I can tell. Oracle support refuses to help me any further with this issue until I can telnet into the OMS on port 7772. However, interestingly enough, I have another box on the local network with an Oracle 9.2.0.1.0 database on Linux RedHat 7.2, which returns the same telnet results as the Linux 2.1 ES box. This box is also managed by this OMS, and has no problems with jobs, etc.
Any suggestions are appreciated. I am (unfortunately) currently my own network administrator, and am a novice to say the least. Thanks everyone! Received on Tue Jun 17 2003 - 16:31:13 CDT
