Your machine's DNS lookup has to return a fully qualified name, like myhost.somecompany.com as 9iAS evidently tries to parse it apart for some reason.

I don't think the localhost setting (127.0.0.1) matters, its the primary IP that you have to worry about. And BTW, and its difficult (impossible?) to change the boxe's IP after installing this beast without breaking it.
