I was thinking in terms of reverse lookups, for example if his listener was configured for logging/tracing it may be attempting to do a reverse lookup on the connecting IP in order to log the client hostname. In this case if a reverse lookup fails it could account for a lengthy timeout delay. I guess one way to find would be to turn off listener logging. Received on Tue Jun 03 2003 - 13:50:53 CDT
