Just a general comment:
No one is perfect. Some points are debatable, some issues are a matter of preference, and everyone occasionally makes a mistake. I have read several posts on these boards that seem a little abrupt, but how you read something and how it is intended by the author do not always match in tone since the media is print (web).
If you post something wrong you are likely to be corrected. Most of the corrections are to the point. They are generally not viscous or nasty. However, being corrected is not always easy to accept. And it is possible the person correctly you is wrong for any of the reasons I mentioned earlier. Also people do sometimes misread items or rush their response since they have to leave the board to do things like their jobs.
Over the last 7 years or so that I have been reading them have been an excellent source of good information. You should not allow one of two posts to stop your reading the board. As far as posting goes it is best to limit oneself to replying to what you can defend (reference).
