That, besides the questions I asked above, might also be a reason. I have to confess that all my databases are OLTP and that I don't know much about the star transformation. My boss would probably have me committed if I suggested bitmap indexes in an OLTP database (4000+ concurrent users on 4xHP 9000/N OPS configuration)
