If you're saying you want to see the schema used by SYS - please stop, read the Oracle Concepts manual, then go to the ORACLE_HOME/dba/admin directory and review the SQL scripts there.
Oracle has created views to keep the likes of us from royally screwing up the system. These views are labled 'DBA_xxx', 'USER_xxx' and 'ALL_xxx', are built on the SYS schema, and are intended to be the public access to the schema. (xxx= tables, tab_columns, and about 100 more.) Aside from all else - they change the internal schema regularily so anything you find will be obsolete soon.
Get the Oracle8i or Oracle9i Data Dictionary wall chart from Computer Associates. That will keep you amused for a while in a safe environment. (If you insist on living dangerously, there is some mountain blasting near here , come on over & I'll lend you a portable radio-phone.)
For gawd's sake, don't mess around with the SYS dictionary. Received on Fri May 16 2003 - 11:14:26 CDT
