I read about a new federal law (in the US) that says I can put my name on a "do not call" list and telemarketers can be fined or jailed for calling me. Congress is thinking of expanding the idea to a "do not spam me" list. I'm not sure how they expect to enforce it, however, when the bulk of my spam comes from another country. I hope Congress doesn't decide to do to spammers what they did to suspected terrorists in Pakistan and Iraq recently. Have US Marines crack down on spam? Hit bulk mailer ISPs with smart bombs? That's not even funny!
