For installation, use the jre that comes with the Oracle installation disks,
otherwise the files would be different and your installer would give errors.
(The installer copies the jre from the installation disk to your Oracle base
directory. It seems that some of the filenames have been hardcoded into the
installation script.) After installation, you can relink the jre in the
ORACLE_BASE directory to any jre you want, such as jre1.4.1_02 from Sun
which is what I'm using now.
