2Gb is a piddly data size for Oracle. If that is "very large" for you, I suggest you look at what sort of hardware you're using for this system. Rather than looking at the software.

Enlighten me: when you started using SQL Server, did you also expect to go production in less than a week after you first heard of the product? Or is this a special you reserve for Oracle?
Quite frankly, I don't even know where to start to explain to you Oracle does NOT use a CREATE DATABASE statement like you expect it to be used for VLDB. You need a crash course on database administration. Failing that, I strongly recommend you hire a temporary qualified Oracle DBA: it's gonna save you so much hardship it's not even funny...
But I'd suggest reading the SQL language manuals to start with. And the Database Concepts manual.
