When I worked for the US federal government, we used to send people to
Learning Tree in the Washington DC area instead of OracleEd ...
primarily because it was cheaper (and you might know how the gov't likes
the lowest bidder). I did not personally attend, but some of my
coworkers did ... mostly the Forms developers. They thought it was
"roughly equivalent" to OracleEd's training classes.
I can see how you could learn Forms in 5 days ... but to learn to be a DBA in 5 days would be pushing it. However, depending on how critical your requirements are, it might be long enuf to get their feet wet and to teach them where to look for the rest of the answers.
It would be far better to enroll in a longer-term training program ... but sometimes the working world doesn't work out that way. I'll stick my neck out and recommend Learning Tree ... with the caveat that what I know about them is only second-hand.
