How about going through some of the documentation first. It goes much further than getting (potentially) incomplete answers from usenet. tahiti.oracle.com is a good start, or you can also try asktom.oracle.com for lots of good info as well.

Your questions are obviously that of someone just learning oracle, which is fine, but you'd be better served by doing more research through the docs.
