Hi,

We upgraded to vms7.2 and I have a copy of production 160GB database files on this new system. I am using STARTUP MOUNT and CREATE CONTROLFILE - see below - but it is hanging the entire system (2 CPU 2GB MEM). I have done this before with a small database and it did hang the system for 5 minutes - is there a reason this is taking so long, it has been going for 15 minutes as I write...

STARTUP NOMOUNT
CREATE CONTROLFILE REUSE set DATABASE "TEST" RESETLOGS ARCHIVELOG

    MAXLOGFILES 32
    MAXLOGMEMBERS 3
    MAXDATAFILES 1022
    MAXINSTANCES 16
    MAXLOGHISTORY 5000

    'DISK_DB03:[D.DIR]LOG10_01.RDO'

) SIZE 100M,

  GROUP 12 (
    'DISK_DB05:[D.DIR]LOG12_01.RDO'
) SIZE 100M,

  GROUP 13 (

   'DISK_DB03:[D.DIR]D_TS_01.DBS',
... etc for 600 data files Received on Thu Mar 27 2003 - 10:42:24 CST
