Oracle 8 and 9 both install fine on SuSE. Review their docs at www.suse.com/oracle because there may be some gotcha's you can run into depending upon what features you select, but the fixes are usually one liners in various makefiles. I am running 8.1.7.4 and 9.2 on a couple SuSE development boxes and have had no problems.
