Hi Daniel,

as a non-beer drinker (and a non-whisky drinker) I can only say that there are many residents and citizens of the UK who would agree with you there. They are all members of a paramilitary organisation known as CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale). I used to work for the Aberdeen branch's Gruppen Fuhrer and he was a right PITA.

Any time you went for a drink with these guys, they spent so much time slagging off people who drank 'that fizzy pish' (anything that was not Real Ale) that it was surprising they never got their Real Ale shoved up/down an alternative Orifice still in the glass.

As we had to remind them on numerous occasions, "it's a drink, not a way of life" - unfortunately untrue for these guys.

Apologies to all CAMRA members reading this who can have a drink in peace and leave others to choose what they drink too - but the militants are a real bunch of losers :o)

Now, a nice glass of Australian white, or a fine full bodied Scottish red does me nicely - and I'm not kidding about the Scottish Red either ! http://www.cairnomohr.co.uk/ for full details (and it's as strong as the Aussie stuff !). I haven't yet had the nerve to open the [year before the] Millenium 2000 special - a Banana wine !

Cheers,
Norman.

over Iraq) much like British beers.
