As Frank said, try to use a VPN if at all possible. If you do use an encrypted VPN then you do not have to worry about securing the Oracle connection by taking additional measures.

Failing that, you could set up a firewall to only allow traffic from certain internet addresses, but you'd be making yourself vulnerable to hacking.

This really is a network question... you have to see how many remote clients are talking to the server, what networking infrastructure you are willing/able to set up, security, etc... Received on Tue Mar 04 2003 - 15:31:03 CST
