That's what confuses me ... the references to Ingres. You can use Perl to connect to Oracle and perform DML. But if you think you are going to simultaneously do something with Ingres I have grave reservations.

In an Oracle usenet group you should speak specifically of Oracle and not muddy the waters with such references.
