Haven't had a single database since 8.1.7.0.0 that wasn't as close to 100% LMT as Oracle would allow. And I've yet to see a problem.

You will wait a very long time as there will never be another 9i release. Wake up and smell the otn.oracle.com. 10i is being released this year. Possibly as early as this summer.

Couldn't disagree more. Always install the first release of a major reversion ... in development. Moving it to production, on the other hand, takes masochism. But first releases are the place to gain familiarity so that you are prepared to go forward when the fully tested production release becomes available.
