Oracle is only case sensitive ?????

Hi Mauro,

Oracle 8i is indeed 'case sensitive' so any data you enter must be queried in a case sensitive manner. I'm afraid there are no parameters that make it operate differently.

There are other things you can do :

• Create function based indexes
• Convert the data to upper/lower case using triggers on data entry or update
• Create extra columns on tables which store an upper/lower case version of the entered data and use that column for case insensitive searches.
