bug & patch availability

Hi people,

I would like to hear you opinion about this: there is a new vulnaribility in Oracle (Oracle9i Database Release 2, Oracle9i Database Release 1, Oracle8i Database v 8.1.7, Oracle Database v 8.0.6). And there is a patch for it, 2642117, but it the case of 8i it is for 8.1.7.4. If we would like to patch the problem (we run 8.1.7.2 ) then we are forced to upgrade to 8.1.7.4. Has Oracle stopped with patch for version lower than 8.1.7.4?
