I'm sure most people have never actually sat down and read an Oracle license agreement, myself included, but I was informed by Oracle today that the license agreement for Oracle on Linux specifically includes support for Red Hat Linux. A TAR can be opened for issues related to both the database and the operating system.

If this helps anyone with a current installation, or persuading their management to move to Linux because there is no a major corporation providing support ... check it out and take advantage of the opportunity.

An associated, but independent, posting (not a cross-post) is being made at comp.databases.oracle.marketplace. Those that check it out will likely find it interesting.
