Oracle 9i Data Guard - setup problem

Hello -

I'm presently trying to configure Oracle Data Guard on Red Hat Linux 8.0.

Using the OMS console, I launch the Data Guard wizard and enter in the appropriate information regarding the source database. I've tried selecting a new physical database as well as logical.

I then encounter an error message stating that the Data Guard remote process failed. No message number or other text appears in the dialog.

I'm suspicious that the remote process (job?) cannot launch, because I'm not able to run any manual jobs against the source database. I get prompted to set the preferred credentials, but even after entering credential information, it does not stay stored in the OMS preferences.

Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated. Received on Sun Feb 09 2003 - 18:39:08 CST
