I'm wondering if any of you have any general thoughts or suggestions regarding whether or not one should pass, as an application implementation practice, XML documents into Oracle SPs; rather than pass/use primitive data types.

Also I have a specific question:

When one passes an XML document, does the DB Engine automatically create Dynamic SQL? And if so, what impact is there, assuming there would be some, regarding performance degradation?

Thanks
