Yes, but (if memory serves) it's not supported. So it's OK for home, but I
wouldn't want to see it in production.
And then I'd have to wonder why anybody would be using 8i at home: ordinarily, home use indicates wanting to learn Oracle, and it seems a bit daft to be learning anything other than the latest version.
But that's just my 2 cents'-worth. The answer to your question is yes.
