If you want to use the Java part, you can easily install just OC4J since that is just a jar file.

If you also want Portal, ldap and the works, then I honestly advise you use the SLES7 or RHAS2.1 versions. But, as I said, for poor Java stuff, use OC4j directly. You can even forget about Oracle's Apache version for that.

Anyway, that is what I am running this minute, except I went to the source of OC4j, Orion. Because it is free for non-profit use.
