Hello
I run a production database (Oracle 8.1.7 on Sun E3500) which is tuned to the amount of available RAM (2GB). For a short time and only for test purposes, I would like to setup a clone of this DB (under a different name of course) and am wondering what happens when I fire up this second DB and the demand of memory of both instances will go beyond available physical memory.
Will the start of the clone DB fail? Will the production DB crash/hang?
I just want to avoid shutting down the production DB since it is needed around the clock.
Thanks in advance
