Yup. Go for user licenses instead of by CPU. It's there to be used in cases like this?

No, you're not the only one. Talk to the rep and explain the problems. Make sure he/she gets the message about DB2. It's surprising how "flexible" they become when they hear those two letters and one number!

Hey, if it does what you want and cheaper then it's fair go. Oracle's problem for being too greedy. Mind you, IBM was no charity organisation either last time I looked...
