Hope your rc script that starts the oracle instance and the listener
is running before your daemon script.
If they are then one problem could be you are using dynamic service
registration (wherein the pmon process registers its info with the
listener).
If you are starting your listener after the instance startup, it takes
1 more minute before the pmon again tries to register the info with
the listener.
So start the listener before the instance.
