On my current project, this error occurred when the users' IP addresses were renewed (used to be every 45 minutes, I think). We changed the IP address lease to 2 weeks, and we never saw this error again. I don't guarantee that this is the cause (ORA-03113 can have multiple causes), but it's something worth looking at. BTW, we run 8.1.6 EE on AIX 4.3.3.
