Oracle Enterprise Manager fails to start

I have a problem with oracle. I have set it up on my windows 2000 server (the only computer I have at home). I have also set up a repository database. The windows events said that the following Oracle-related services have failed to start:

Oracle Recovery Service

So I went to the Windows 2000 services window and start it up -even though it was to set to start automatically!!!. In that window, all the set up oracle services were started -all of them are set to start automatically -, except for Enterprise Management Service. So I started it and that triggered an error in which windows told me that Enterprise Management Service has failed to start because it timed out. I have tried to start it several times and nothing.

My computer has many other programs and works very well exept with oracle. Can anybody tell me what is going on?
