Yup, this one sounds just about right with my memory too. The only if is the reference to SQL*Star in V5 being the first distributed database attempt by Oracle. In V4.1.4 for DOS there was a small experimental program for moving data using SQL between DOS and VMS, via a serial RS-232 connection.
Hehehe! Who here was ever at 20 Davis Drive? Lovely little white building. I spent two weeks there in January 1988, for the V6 alfa rollout. The grand piano was the main feature of the entrance hall at the time. I'm told Larry moved it to Oracle Parkway when they moved.
BTW, Oracle Parkway was built on the site of the old Marine World where the orcas used to do their show. Before they moved the whole "fishy" thing to North of SF.
