It must have been 6. Not 5. Parallel Server simply could not have been implemented with the 5 architecture. There was a HUGE change in Oracle architecture between 5 and 6. Nyways, the very first PS I worked with was in 1990, V6.1. Brand new then, still got the doco that came with it hanging around somewhere in the garage.

Doubt there is such a thing as the "doo-dah's" on this but if I were you, I'd contact Ken Jacobs. If any1 knows in detail the evolution of Oracle Server since yonks it's him: he was in charge of product development of the darn thing for a looooong time.

Oh well, whatever this faint and paged memory can remember plus anything contained in the internal memos of Oracle Australia for the first two years is at your disposal.
