Hi,
We are in process of upgrading 8i(8.1.7) with OFS3.1.2 to 9i(9.2) with
OFS 3.3.1 on the same existing windows 2000 OS server. We are only
upgrading 8i database server plus OFS 3.1.2, not upgrading any tools
at this time.
We would like to know the best method to upgrade the software. The cluster has two nodes running on windows 2000 server - ORACLE 8i with OFS 3.1.2.
From metalink Certify feature, that OFS 3.3.1 supports both 9i and 8i. We would like to the best order in which to upgrade the 8i and OFS 3.1.2, without going thru unwanted issues.
After reading the documentation for Oracle Fail Safe 3.3.1 in installation Appendix A (section A2) notes says that,
If anyone had already done this procedure your experience will help us. We are doing this first on test system, and the on prod system, but the data is equally important for us.
Also, we have the following questions, for the same upgrade. 1. Is it ok two have 8i and 9i on the same windows2000 platform. Are there any known issues we should be looking into. 2. Is OFS 3.3.1 compatible with 8i and 9i at the same time, both versions of oracle running on windows 2000.
thanks in advance.
