I'm continually fascinated at how DB2 has the market share that it does. In my experience with SQL Server, Oracle and DB2, I've found DB2 to be by far the most poorly engineered product of the lot (including Microsoft SQL Server). The company I work for made the poor choice of going with DB2 and we've had nothing but headaches since day one, despite having two "certified" DBAs at our disposal.
