Oracle Application Server (OAS) did have its fair share of problems. This is one of the reasons why Oracle Corp redid the design of it. This is an old product so I wouldn't even consider it.

But you might want to consider the replace for OAS, Oracle's Internet Application Server (iAS). This is much better than OAS, IMO.
