Hi all,
We had a meltdown of an Oracle database running on NT Server 4.0. We rebuilt the server from scratch, installed Oracle from scratch, recreated our database and imported a .dmp file from the previous night to get back online.
Amazingly, the only problem we are now facing is the fact that connecting via ODBC takes a *lot* longer than it used to. For example, a Microsoft Excel sheet with an ODBC query in it will stay onscreen with "connecting to datasource" fro anywhere between 10 and 45 seconds. It will eventually connect, but take such a long time, which never happened before the rebuild. I figure I missed sumthin pretty important, and I have not got a cluse as to where to look, since I was sortat thrown into the deep end here. Could someone point me in the right direction to start looking? I would appreciate it!
