Yes, "connect / as sysdba". I'll be running this from an account in the dba group.

I don't want successful or failed login attempts to be made, if possible, since these will be auditted and cause questions to be made.

So the encryption is the same over all databases? Hmm... that's a possibility then; work out the hex string and test that. Should be easy to verify. Thanks!
