And I'm a "more than 30" year old - with 30 years of IT experience, including 10+ years of Oracle DBA, 7, 8, 8i and 9i certified, with Java, development, training and more experience. I can teach you all you need to know about Oracle - bloody or otherwise - if there was a company out there who'd like to provide the facilities to teach this guy.

I'm not sure that these Oracle jobs really exist - I'm also tired of agencies requiring 6 years experience in products that have only been around for 3, degrees (if I was good enough to get a US work permit without one, you'd think that there might be a possibility that a company in my own country might want me!), agencies wanting a mix of products that NO-ONE would know - and then, when they can't even spell the products that they are trying to find candidates for - it makes me wonder what in hell's name their client companies really said.

Is there a website anywhere that includes an "agency speak" page, since I really don't think I understand 'em at all.

If there isn't such a site, I'll accept contributions from job-seekers and start one. It'll keep me amused for a time at least!

Agency speak #1

"We need to pass your CV through our vetting process, via our admin manager, before we are allowed to pass on more than one CV to our client.".

Translation

The guy who can actually spell Oracel (sic) is out to lunch - till Monday and I've no clue what you're talking about. Received on Wed Nov 06 2002 - 10:16:01 CST
