You seem to be incapable of evaluating that you are making mistakes. Think of this:
You could create a small, polite FAQ for people who you think are obvious lazy newcomers, and simply post that as an answer any time you feel the person is a lazy newcomer. This could have a few pointers such as links to the manuals and documentation, the expectations of posting in the newsgroup, basic information to post like versions and hardware, and so forth. It doesn't have to be a group effort, but if you do it well, maybe others in the group would copy it and do the same thing. Then, a newcomer who looks before posting would see it, and those that don't would get gang-faqqed. Wouldn't this be even easier than the rude response? Didn't we used to have a faq?
Since you didn't ask the version, there may _be_ no rename command, and you could be looking like a stoopid jurk.
You appear to have some hidden agenda, such as getting back at someone you work(ed) with who didn't show appreciation for your abilities, or you feel only this medium allows you to be aggressive. If the former, get some counselling. If the latter, learn the difference between assertiveness and aggressiveness, and that aggressiveness can be quite counter-productive for your own self. If something else, let us in on it, maybe we can help. Your postings just seem out of proportion.
