Hi Mark,

I could be completely wrong, but I think you misunderstand the concept of the SysVinit. The scripts starting with an S are executed when that runlevel is entered. The scripts starting with an K are executed when a runlevel is left.

The numbers give them just an order, in which they are to be executed. So you should create your links in the rc3.d and rc5.d.
