Re: The Java Runtime Environment was not found

I'd just like to say thanks guys. I had the exact same problem with trying to install Oracle 9i r2 on Win XP Pro (P4 PC). It so happens my CD-R was also burned incorrectly with Nero, or my particular download that day of 9ir2 was duff. However, I lean toward my own boo-boo (negligance) with Nero.

I tested a slightly older Ora9i r2 download with WinOnCD (using the default wizard) kindly donated by my buddy and hey-presto my installation works!

This has saved me alot of time trying to figure out this stupid error, which is indeed stupid but not the fault of anyone posted here. It is just a matter of multiple burn formats and possibly a bad install set from Oracle.

Let's not blame anything , anybody or company but put this down to experience. Besides you guys can sleep well in your beds tonight with the satisfaction that your tribulations has at least helped me and others to come who search for this error.

Be well, sleep tight and ta-ta for now
