I understand that there is a 64-Bit version of Oracle that runs on Linux 64 in Beta. Can someone tell me when this is scheduled for release?

What are the key limitations of this new version? I have seen very little enthusiasm for the 64-bit Itanium servers, and I assume that this is because the software being developed for it must have some big limitations.

Will Oracle 64-bit run on the first version of Itanium, or just on the Itanium 2 processor? Does anyone have benchmarks showing differences in performance?

I assume the big win for most databases will be the larger addressable memory space, and you would see the biggest payback with more than 4GB of physical memory.
