Hi,

<SNIP>

>> My question: Is the Oracle 8.1.7.4.X CD existing or is it a mythos???

Stephan

Go to Metalink - fill in your password.
Click on the PATCHES button on the left. Fill in your password again. Click on "latest Oracle Server / Tools Patchsets" at the top of the document text.
Click on "Oracle Database" under Patch sets at the top of the screen. Fill in your password again.

Wait .......................... :o)

Eventually, a list of servers, versions and pacth kit number will appear.
Find your server, find 8174 for that server, and click the link ABOVE it next to PATCHSET to go to the download bit.

HTH Regards,
Norman
