Hi Nuno,

sounds like the installation from hell to me, and not much fun.

I had a similar problem on my HP box recently. Had to upgrade to 8174 so downloaded the patch and off I went. Except we have no unZipper on HP. Tried on Windows - that was ok. Got a tar file. But for some reason, the HP box didn't want to know the tar file from WinZip.

Eventualy decided to vent my spleen back on Metalink - you know, the feedback bit - but decided to 'measure twice cut once' and check to see if I hadn't downloaded the wrong patch kit - I hadn't, but there in the small print was a link to an unzipper for HP. One swift download later, and the HP was happily upgrading to 8174.

And on the subject of never finding the original CD, some of our customers are banks. They keep ALL software back in head office. So any time we go out to the branches, we have to (a) check up with head office to get the originals sent up to the branch and (b) invariably they send the wrong one. It for security purposes they say !
